Water Leak Detection
Protect your investment with our latest leak detection technology at Caravan Crash and Service.
This is a relatively new, highly effective method used by manufacturers and repairers to find hidden leaks in the caravan’s exterior skin, this is a break down of how it works.
-
Pressurization:
-
A large air pressure system is placed inside the caravan, sealed shut, to force air into the cabin, pressurizing the interior.
-
-
Detection:
-
While the interior is under pressure, technicians spray a special soap solution on all exterior seals (J-moulds, roof hatches, window seals).
-
-
How it shows leaks:
-
If air escapes, it creates bubbles in the soap solution, pinpointing exactly where water will enter during rain, even if the leak is hidden behind fittings.
-
By detecting leaks early, we help prevent structural damage and extend the life of your caravan. It’s a fast, reliable way to ensure your caravan stays dry, safe, and in top condition.
Water Leak Detection FAQ
Did you know - sealant only lasts 5-7 years ?
Sealant on Caravans only last 5-7 years and need to be inspected regularly for any signs of cracking, shrinking, lifting, or deterioration. If left unchecked, worn sealant can allow water to seep in, leading to costly damage such as leaks and wood rot.
What are the common signs of water ingress?
Warning signs include bubbling or cracking on walls or ceilings, musty odours, or soft spots in the flooring. Early detection is critical to preventing timber rot and long-term structural degradation within the wall cavities.
Do you provide preventative sealing services?
Yes, we offer comprehensive resealing for all exterior joints, roof vents, and windows. We recommend a full integrity check every 1-2 two years to maintain the weather-tight seal of your caravan.
Can I do a moisture test at home?
Yes, we sell a moisture meter that you can check your caravan regularly and with east at home or whilst you are travelling, you never know what mother nature has in store.
